11th Annual Cornell Picnic

2009 Annual Cornell Picnic a huge success!

After the thunder shower in the morning the sun shone down and helped bring over 1000 attendees. “Full Moon” kept everyone entertained with some great music. The bouncy castles were a huge hit, as always, and the Mini-putt course.

This year at the picnic, a raffle was held to raise money for the Young Family, longtime residents of Cornell, to put towards the purchase of an in-home wheelchair elevator for their 5 year old son. The raffle raised $250, and the Youngs wish to extend their thanks for all the support they’ve received from the community.

Special thanks to our sponsors, who made this day possible:

Cornell Family Snow Day

The first ever "Cornell Family Snow Day" was held on February 24th in the Mews Park. We could not have asked for better weather, and a good time was had by all who attended.

The winner of the Snow & Ice Sculpture contest was David Caldarelli and his #89 race car. David generously donated $50 of his prize so that we could award a 2nd place prize. That went to the Grade 8 team of Emma Jefferson, Hiba Alibaccas, Sneha Snekar, Angela Velijkovie for their sculpture of a dog and dog house. And one prize of $50 was drawn from all entries which was awarded to the team of David Ellis (grade 7) and Andrew Duncan (grade 8).
