Why Membership Matters

The CRPA is a non-profit, volunteer run organization whose mandate is to provide a strong voice for the residents of Cornell in matters that directly impact our community. We are guided by the people of Cornell to ensure that the needs of our community are recognized and considered by the Town of Markham, Developers, Builders and all other organizations whose decisions and policies affect the quality of life and community spirit of Cornell.

The CRPA is also responsible for the organization and coordination of many social and community events including the Annual Cornell Picnic, Golf Tournament, Community Garage Sale, Snow Day, and Christmas Caroling, Skating Rink – just to name a few. The CRPA and its Board of Directors are always on hand to offer their time and assistance with many other non-profit events that take place within our community (Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Tree Lighting, Garden Festival, etc.).

As an instrumental form of communication between the CRPA and the community, the CRPA owns and operates this website (www.mycornell.ca), maintains the Kiosk (community bulletin board) located in the Mews Park on Cornell Park Drive, and communicates to residents with mailouts via Canada Post whenever necessary.

The CRPA membership fee is only $5 per household, Cornell Rate Payer memberships run from August 1st to July 31st of each year - but you can join at any time! Membership dollars provide crucial support for CRPA communications, events, causes and other initiatives within the community of Cornell. We greatly appreciate and rely on Cornell residents for their support. As a member of the CRPA you not only support its mandate, community events and communications network, you also enjoy the following benefits:
