HOW WE MAKE MONEY

The Cornell Residents Association (CRA) is now only accepting donations and you do not need a formal membership to receive our emails, be a part of our Facebook page or enjoy our events. We currently fundraise at our annual Cornell Picnic in the second week of August by charging a flat family rate to go on the rides, we have sponsors for the picnic and vendors that pay to participate. We also have some sponsorship for our annual community gathering at the Tree Lighting Ceremony in November.       

WHAT WE DO WITH IT

The CRA owns and operates this website (www.mycornell.ca), maintains the Kiosk (Community Bulletin Board) located in the Mews Park on Cornell Park Drive, and communicates to residents with mail outs via Canada Post. Our volunteers donate their time to respond to residents with concerns, direct people to the appropriate resource that can handle the issue and communicate our events and other things happening in and around the Cornell community.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Throughout the year Cornell runs various events including the tree lighting, the building and maintaining of The Mews Park skating rinks, the Cornell Picnic, the garage sale and clean-up day. We are always looking for volunteers to help out at these events and sponsors of these various events, and we are always looking for new ideas to connect and build our community. We are brainstorming always new ideas to build up our community and have found sponsorship a great way to develop new initiatives and support our neighbourhood businesses. If your business is interested in being a sponsor, please send us an email, and we can keep you apprised of new initiatives!
